Chisholm Cottage is wholly owned and operated by the Catholic Women's League Australia, Diocese of Parramatta Inc. and opened for business in March 1996.
In May,2011 the management of the cottage was handed over to the Sisters of Charity Outreach.  
Edward Thomas is welcomed as coordinator.

While the initial purpose was to provide assistance to those who require hospital care, later the criterion offered for accommodation was broadened to include others requiring similar assistance.

Catholic Woman's League Australia, Diocese of Parramatta Inc. is a registered charity, and has Deductible Gift Recipient status. Members run the cottage on a day to day voluntary basis, performing all necessary duties. Chisholm Cottage aims to provide a relaxed, supportive and homelike atmosphere for guests and members are happy to assist with local knowledge , where possible.

Chisholm Cottage offers low cost accommodation in the Westmead/Parramatta area for those with short term need.
Guests may include:

• those with family members consulting one of the nearby hospital complexes.
• those attending outpatient clinics or other medical facilities.
• those requiring emergency accommodation for reasons other than medical..
